for those who have loved and lost

and those who

stand by them

Mid winter Yell, Shetland taken by Louise reminds us that beauty and light  are still  with us, even as we embrace our hardest or darkest times of life.

How can Grief Shared help me?

"Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.' (https://fourminutebooks.com/brene-brown-quotes/)

Hopefully by walking some small, steady steps with you through your journey through your darkness, accepting it as temporary - but trusting in the love which is permanent, and will reunite you with the light of your past, present and future, together.

The light has dimmed, but never goes out.

Below are some quotes, books and links which may be of help on your journey:

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love."

(1 Corinthians 13)

........

"Life is like a river, flowing into the sea.

We can never step into the same water twice,

but we can allow ourselves to let it flow

it will bless us with wonder and hope."

(anon)

.........

"When we deny our emotion, it owns us.

When we own our emotion,

we can rebuild

and find our way through the pain."

(Brene Brown)

This group idea is one offered by ordinary people  who have found benefit in our own grief from friends, family and organisations.

We aim here to share some ideas and links which have helped us come to terms and understand this period of grief. We hope that it will help you too.

We do not claim it is the answer to all, merely acting as pointers and offering what ideas we have found useful. There are many good organisations and advice out there on the internet and in books, podcasts and programmes.

A bit of everything helps and each of us will find our own way through, like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon - the same, but different.

So many of us have been where you are now. In different circumstances; with different relationships. Yet we all know grief, and we have all known such great love; and so have agreed to put together this site to provide comfort, help and a way through for yourself, family and friends.

Hopefully, you will find practical ideas about how to cope with grief for yourself, friends or family.

We also share some useful links to public organisations who offer advice and support.

But most of all, we stand by you in spirit, in knowing our own personal grief, and its individuality just as you own yours personally. It is yours, embrace it, unwelcome as it is, and it will eventually become your strength in your life

As friends, or family, we can help each other through this time.

Grief passes.

Love remains.

Use the menu button to read on and we hope it helps you a little through your journey.
