Men Talking -  supporting grief in another form.

Our Roc y Fala - The fractured rock of our childhood dares reminds us of the strength that togetherness will overcome.

Being a rock for each other makes us one strength together.

Our local men and boys are awesome in supporting each other by recognising that men and boys need to talk.

Following too many dark thoughts; one suicide too many, we grouped together as a village and decided we CAN do something.

The mountain always looks too high to climb,

but we only can ever take one small step at a time

and we will eventually be strong enough to reach the top.

WE KNOW:

Life brings each of us new and unfamiliar challenges.

It could be work.

It could be new family commitments.

It could be finances.

It could be relationships.

It could be your self esteem.

It could be addiction.

It could be your expectations of yourself.

It is often what seems for others to be the most ordinary which causes the greatest stress upon us.

Bwl Boys and Men care and have been in a dark place at one time ourselves.

 You are not alone.

You are a human.

Being a man does not enable any of us to be more than human.

There is a way.... turn around ... reach out.... TALK

Be a good listener: Team Build:

a team causes us to show our vulnerability before we can know our strengths.

Below are some links/video clips made by those who know those dark feelings and have come to know the light at the end of the tunnel:

So Bwl boys and Bwl men encourage each other to:-

Turn around and face outwards.

(You will be surprised who has secretly felt something similar).

In dark thoughts:-

Phone a friend or support agency;

message a friend or family member.

Stay sober and away from drugs (or ask someone to help with this)

These only make dark thoughts deeper when you sober up.

With a friend or family member:-

Go outside for a walk

And talk everything out

You will be surprised to know that your are experiencing nothing new,

Nothing completely unique

Nothing beyond help and you can be active in that help but you need someone with you to start up.

You are part of something universal

You are not alone.

 You matter!

For friends or family or a kind neighbour:

Listen

Don’t judge or advise

Support with your time and empathy

Do something simple together

Walk, ride, throw a rugby ball around

Be there.

Find things to do together outdoors and regularly focusing on what is healthy and supports mental and physical well being.

Seek advice from professionally led information websites or books or video links.

There are very good resources out there.

One good example is the book:

The Chimp Paradox by Prof Peter Stevens as a book or:

When life gets on top of us ... we are not alone.

It stresses you. You feel anxious and have trouble sleeping.

You are not alone.

You worry about the burdens and challenges you have or will have and can't find solutions.

you don't want to get up in the morning as the day is too hard to face.

You are not alone.

Nothing you can say has not been heard before.

The nothingness you feel is nothing new to us.

You are not alone.

Talk to each other. Listen to each other. Never judge but talk and walk forward as one.,, together.

We are not alone.

You are loved because you exist not because of anything you have done or cannot do.

You are not alone.

Together we will overcome
